Not just a Bartending School, It’s Real World Bartender Training with Real NY Style! All of our instructors have to meet the following criteria: 1. Be knowledgeable and professional Our Instructors We at the Academy of Professional Bartending School believe that teaching excellence is the key to student success. We take great pride in the fact that our bartending instructors are not only industry experts, but also have expertise in the art of teaching. NY STATE LICENSED: Every member of our teaching staff has successfully passed or exceeded all of the requirements set forth by the New York State Education Department. All members of our teaching staff are NY State licensed and have a minimum of 5 years of experience as bartenders / managers. NY State only requires 2 years. EXCELLENCE: At APB, a teacher must pass an Official APB exam in order to be considered for our instructing staff. EXPERIENCE: Every member of the APB teaching staff must have experience teaching classes and or tutoring students before being hired. We only audition teachers who have proven success in the profession. TRAINING: Our APB Instructor training is unmatched by any other bartending school; new APB instructors must go through a 100+ hour training process to guarantee that they meet our unparalleled standards. This method ensures that every Instructor is an expert in our curriculum before setting foot in a classroom. PERSONALITY: Our teachers are selected on the basis of their ability to be engaging and interactive in the classroom, to bring life to the material and to make your APB experience as interesting and fun as possible. We ensure this quality through our extensive in-person audition process - we extend an offer to approximately 1 out of 5 individuals who meet the score and experience requirements. This reflects the fact that there is a vast difference between ability on the exam and ability to lead a class (there are some boring high scorers out there). |
